How I design my humans...
▶
When crafting human figures in the realm of 3D, I use a foundational base mesh. This ensures that the intricate topology aligns harmoniously with the demands of animation, particularly if the creation finds its destiny within a gaming environment. With this sturdy foundation in place, I then embark on the creation of attires by duplicating the mesh layer that corresponds to the concealed skin. This transformed layer evolves into the meticulously designed costume, becoming seamlessly entwined with the rigging for coherent motion.
A habitual practice of mine is to materialize characters predominantly within the 3D domain. This choice facilitates effortless manipulation and permits the generation of diverse imagery leveraging the same central figure. Such versatility proves invaluable for endeavors spanning book illustrations to graphic novels.
Post-3D stage, the tools of GIMP or Krita come into play. Here, I meticulously infuse intricate details, meticulously integrating them into the broader scene with a seamlessness that captivates the viewer's eye.
